Deadly Sins emerged as a fresh voice in the long-standing Boston punk rock scene. The band was formed in 2006 by Stephanie Dougherty and Billy Brown. Stephanie is best known for her work with the Dropkick Murphys on the song "The Dirty Glass". Billy is known for singing and playing guitar in Crash and Burn. The lineup grew to include Brendan “Stu” Maguire (Reach the Sky) and Nathan Bice (Even in Blackouts). A full set of songs were written, but the band had yet to find an available bass player. I was working with Billy at the time and heard him bumming out about needing to find somebody to play bass for a tour in a hurry! I crunched some numbers, determined that I had enough vacation time and begged Billy to let me fill in for the band/tour. I convinced the others I could do the job and we went right to work. The band recorded/released a self titled EP in Feb. 2006 and embarked on a Sold-Out 3 week U.S. tour, opening for The Dropkick Murphys & The Aggrolites. Upon completion of the tour, a permanent bassist named Joe Packard (Crash & Burn/The Murder Mile) was hired and I was relieved of duty. I was in the band for about 6 months and walked away with the experience of a lifetime.
